Search.
Understand.
Reflect.

A privacy-first, offline Islamic research app. Native SQLite FTS5 search over the Qur'an and hadith — grounded by data, not generated by AI.

01 / Core

Designed for clarity. Built for reliability.

A small number of things, done with care. No feeds, no notifications, no cloud.

01

Offline-first

Works without internet after setup. Runs on low-end Android devices — no background sync, no updates required.

02

Instant search

Native SQLite FTS5 full-text search across Qur'an and hadith, in English and Bengali. Results appear as you type.

03

Authentic data

Built on the Qur'an and hadith with full references — surah, ayah, book, and number on every result.

04

Private by design

No external APIs. No tracking. No cloud. Your reading stays on your device, always.

02 / Method

Search. Retrieve. Explain.

A strict retrieval-first pipeline. The AI never generates facts — it only summarizes what the database returns. No hallucinations. No generated facts.

Step 01

Search

Queries hit a native SQLite FTS5 index on-device. Arabic, English, and Bengali — instant, even on older phones.

Step 02

Retrieve

Matching verses and hadith are pulled from the local corpus, with surah, book, and number intact. No network request leaves the device.

Step 03

Explain

A local model summarizes only the retrieved passages. If the sources are silent, Hujjah says so.

No hallucinations. No generated facts.  The AI never introduces information outside of what the local database returns.

03 / In the app

A deeper library, on the device.

Three tools that work without an account, without a connection, and without sending anything anywhere.

Available in app

Hadith database

The Kutub al-Sittah — six canonical collections — browsable and searchable offline, with grade, narrator, and book references.

Available in app

Sanad chain explorer

Walk the isnād of any hadith — every narrator, every link in the chain, laid out as a readable tree.

Available in app

Offline AI explanations

A small on-device model. It paraphrases retrieved passages — never invents them. Runs with no network, no account, no keys.

04 / The app

Quiet on the eyes. Clear on the mind.

Three moments from the app — the same typographic restraint you see here, on a smaller screen.

Ask
What does Islam teach about patience in hardship?
Patience (ṣabr) is framed as an act of seeking help, paired with prayer. The Qur'an promises companionship to those who persevere, and hadith extend this to reward for any difficulty a believer meets. SOURCES · 2:153 · BUKHĀRĪ 1469 · MUSLIM 2999

05 / Trust

A tool you can trust
because nothing leaves.

Hujjah is built by engineers who care about correctness. A research tool for sacred text should not be a surveillance product.

  • 01

    Works offline

Once installed, Hujjah runs entirely on your device. No connection required, ever.

  • 02

    No external APIs

Search, retrieval, and explanation all happen locally. There is no server to call.

  • 03

Your data stays on your device

No accounts. No telemetry. No backups we can read. The app doesn't know who you are.

  • 04

    Built for accuracy, not speculation

Explanations are anchored to the text they cite. When the sources are silent, Hujjah says so.
